Adaptive Reuse of 5757 South University - street work

Beginning on Monday, Dec. 2, plumbing contractors will begin work along Woodlawn Avenue between 57th and 58th Streets to remove and disconnect an existing water line. The work will involve cutting a section of pavement from the west side of Woodlawn near 5750, to the center of Woodlawn Avenue.

The campus community can expect the following:

--Vehicle traffic along Woodlawn Avenue will be reduced to one lane.

--Flaggers will be in place along Woodlawn Avenue and at the intersection of 58th and Woodlawn and at the new east/west alley adjacent to 5736 S. Woodlawn to direct and monitor traffic.

--Pedestrian walkways and crossings along the east side of Woodlawn Avenue will not be impacted.

--The concrete jersey barricade walkway along the west side of Woodlawn Avenue will be temporarily closed during this work.

--Work is scheduled for completion on Thursday, Dec. 5, weather permitting.

--Work hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
