New construction at 5225 S. Cottage Grove Ave.

Construction activity near 52nd Street and Cottage Grove Avenue will ramp up in October as work continues on the construction of an 86,000-square-foot building. The new two-story building is custom-designed specifically for Facilities Services shops, including residential, landscaping and inventory personnel. Construction at the site will last through December 2014.

The community can expect the following during this work:

--Trucks will enter and exit the site via Cottage Grove Avenue, as shown on the map below. Flaggers will be in place to direct traffic during site deliveries.

--Vehicle parking will be restricted during the day along the east side of Cottage Grove Avenue, between 52nd and 53rd Streets, to facilitate truck staging.

--Foundation work will begin, which will create noise and dust at times. Water will be used to minimize dust and a street sweeper will be used to keep the street clean.

--Underground gas and water service work will take place near the site and may occasionally impact the east side parking lane on Cottage Grove Avenue.

--Work will take typically take place between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
