IME Lab Renovation in Jones Basement: Move-In and Building-wide Fire Alarm System Upgrade

Part of the Jones lab renovation project requires the move-in of lab equipment that will impact vehicle parking and pedestrians along Ellis Avenue from Wednesday, July 31 through Saturday, August 3.


Lab Equipment Move-In:

Part of the lab renovation project requires the move-in of lab equipment that will impact vehicle parking and pedestrians along Ellis Avenue from Wednesday, July 31 through Saturday, August 3. The campus community can expect the following:

--Signage will be in place to direct and route pedestrians around the work area.

--For much of the day on July 31, a stretch of the east sidewalk along Ellis Avenue will be closed; pedestrians will be routed across the street and accessible signs will be in place.

--There will be no parking signs along a stretch of Ellis Avenue during the move-in.

--The work will take place between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will be noisy at times.

Fire Alarm System Shutdown:

Beginning at 6 a.m. on July 30 through 12 a.m. on August 2, new fire alarm system panels will be installed in the Jones Building.

--There will be a full building fire alarm shut down during this time.

--Signage will be posted throughout Jones; please use added caution during this time.
