Water shutdown at 59th Street & Dorchester Avenue
Please be aware that the City of Chicago will perform a water shutdown at 59th Street & Dorchester Avenue on Friday, October 12, 2012 from 9 a.m. through 5 p.m. The community can expect the following during this work:
--The City of Chicago Water Department will perform a water shutdown to replace existing underground pipes along 59th Street
--Excavation to prepare for the shutdown will occur on Thursday, October 11, 2012
--Water service to the following areas will be shutdown during the hours of operation:
--Dorchester Avenue from 57th through 59th Streets (East and West sides)
--Pedestrian access will be re-routed around the work areas
--Vehicular traffic will remain undisturbed
--A flagger will be present to monitor pedestrian and vehicular traffic
--Hours of operation will be 9 a.m. through 5 p.m.
